Bishop Dimieari
Grammar School (BDGS) was founded in 1955 as Yenagoa Grammar School by Bishop Ebenezer Tamunoteghe Dimieari to
serve the Brass division and was renamed in his honor after his
death. Bishop Dimieari, the first Bishop of the Niger Delta Diocese from
1952 to 1961, established the school as part of his missionary work to improve
education in the area.

established as the first secondary school in the Brass division to improve
educational opportunities in the region.
